During a rare quiet spell between client projects at Diburama, the Spanish animation studio where I worked full-time, I was given the chance to create a promotional animation for the studio. The head of animation handed me the reins with complete creative freedom – which made it one of the most creatively fulfilling pieces I’ve worked on.

The studio’s mascot was a flame. I imagined it as the heart of a cozy camping scene, drawing inspiration from my girlfriend and our dog. The flame bursts to life, sending sparks into the night – each one representing a burst of creativity. The campers sit in awe as the animation unfolds. The smoke drifts upward, transitioning into glimpses of past Diburama projects. Finally, the camera pans to the sky where stars begin to shimmer, eventually connecting like a constellation to reveal the studio’s name.

It was a joy to build something so personal and expressive, and the process itself helped reignite that creative spark in me too.
